Dad just rolled up in my driveway yesterday with his new car. some jerk without insurance hit his envoy and totaled it so he went car shopping.
What was he driving? How about a JAGUAR S TYPE R. 400hp supercharged v8, 0-60 in 5.2, ¼ in 13.6.And some beautiful brimbo breaks with 14 inch rotors.
This car is scary fast and a true sleeper. Is supper quiet and smooth. We were pretty even till maybe 60 and then it was over. I took the jag up to 120 and it got there so fast it was incredible. And it was as smooth and tight at 120 as it is a 55. so I now know what my family car will be one day.

I think the hardtop/coupe version looks good. I didn't like it at first when I saw the pictures but when I saw one in person its pretty nice looking. As for the rest of the jag lineup....meh I say. I'd rather have a nice XKE.Not all jags are ugly

I don't know that I would call them "scary fast" seeing as they are only 13sec cars but it is indeed on quick family sedan.
They also mod pretty well so your dad might want to keep that in mind. Now you have a nice car to ake out when you wanna pick up girls, lol.
Is it used? They drop value pretty quickly so if he bought used he prolly got a killer deal on it!

he got it with 40,000 miles on it for $17,000 at a dealer auction. its in really good shap. i guess it seems so fast because i never driven a car that will go that fast so easily.
400 hp and run with STIs? If I was to spend the money on a new car...I would go with a Nissan GT-R or just mod up my STI. Jags are like BMW's with even more of a pompous attitude type of car. Although I do like the BMW 335xi.I used to like jags when I was 10 years old...now I know better.
But they aren't bad cars...just not to my liking.

i dont think jag was really marketing this car to sti owners. my parents are 45, they dont want a bumpy sti with sub par interior. they want a luxuary sudan. they probably would have baught the car if it had a v6 in it. it was just a bonus that it has a ton of power
