what is that stage 2 and Intercooler upgrade maybe from what he thinks is a 2.5 stage????
I think all the .5 and stuff is like a protune ontop of AP flash. My friend is getting his protune ontop of his stage 2 AP. I guess he can be on stage 2.5. they can get more out of stage 2 with protune.

Glad to see the 08 held up well. Stock 08 vs Stock STI, STI will win, but the 08 will put up a better fight than previous years. Stage 2 08, should beat a Stock STI.
A stage 2 08 will not even be close to a STI.

Preliminary results seem to indicate that the '08 WRX takes to mods pretty well. It wouldn't shock me at all to see numbers from a tuned Stage 2 '08 that are comparable to a stock (current model) STI.

Obviously it will still lack the 6-speed manual and other tweaks that are specific to the STI.

You might want to be a bit more cautious in your statements.

My predicition, based on current data indicating the 08 WRX is a legacy in disguise, is that a stage 2 WRX will indeed take a stock STi. But only from a roll. From a launch, it will need longer than a 1/4 mile to catch it, but it will eventually catch and pass it.

i am gonna have to say you are wrong. not just wrong but totally wrong. my friends the 2008 WRX i am pretty sure is the fastest stock WRX ever perduced. and i know from my own visual experiences that a 04 stage2 WRX can take a STI, as well as a Evo XIII, and Evo IV.

well...lets not go overboard here. I'm pretty sure there are a number of JDM and eurospec WRXs that have been produced that are faster...not to mention that we don't have any solid track numbers yet to say what is or isn't faster (if bench racing is necessary that is).

FYI...an 04 stage 2 WRX is not quite up to the speed of a stock STi. Very, very close, but with equal drivers, the STi would win 1/4 mile and frumaroll. That is my "visual" and "personal" experience.

These #'s make me happy, especially at 13psi. Now add a stage 2 to that.
    And...
    This looks decent too.

I think the stock BPV sucks though... stock boost leak and i dont think it can hold boost above stock levels. I dont think i am going to attempt to mod mine to hold more. Pics of the new BOV soon. lol (it will be recirculated)

Anybody get a downpipe for an 08 yet?

I am surprised... I know you can't go totally on magazine numbers, but the 08 WRX 0-60 times are slower than the 06/07s. I have now been told by my dealer that he felt the 08 didn't pull as hard as the 06/07.

What data are you looking at to make the comment the 08 is the fastest ever?

    Its already started.

They are worse than the 06/07 owners..... I didn't think it was possible.

subiesport says that the 2008 WRX runs a 13.9 i would put it to test, but all the tracks are closed near the Chi.

An '08 stage 2 WRX and '05 STI are going to be really close. It's really going to come down to the drivers. I also think all STIs are not created equal. I've definitely been in some that felt faster than others but they were all stock.
