thats the thing with bimmers, your never know if the person wants to race or not, cause bmw owners have a wide variety of customers. ive seen women to grandpas/ grandmas drive m3s, and usually the only ones that will race you are the guys that are in the late 20s to late 30s range. And note: if you are buying a 40k dollar car and racing it, that isnt very a very smart investment.

As long as it's from a dig or a low speed roll the outcome is not surprising.

A higher roll would be a different story though.

A 2.5L Stage 2 WRX would be a little more advantageous over the 2.0L Stage 2 WRX from a dig and low speed rolls due to the torque. However, the E46 M3 has insane top end so at high speeds (60MPH+) I wouldn't go near it with any Stage 2 WRX.

Yeah me too I ran one from a roll actually. We went from a 60 I took him all the way up to 110 where he let off. Ran 3 times I pulled 2 cars each time. It wasn't E46 it was a E36. A lady at my job has the same one. I have raced a old one from a dig and that wasn't pretty. It is my favorite car though If I could afford one I would have it.

E36 M3's aren't too fast. I actually slowly edged my way in front almost by a car from about a 60MPH roll. It could have been an automatic, I'm not sure. But they're ~240hp at the crank give or take the model year and fairly heavy.

They weigh under 3,200 lbs which is just as heavy (if not a tad lighter) than a wrx.

i disagree, im stock 06 and ive kept up with a couple m3's b4. got beat by about 2 car lengths from dig up to 80ish so if your stage 2...

lol okay, you keep thinking that. I used to beat them off a stop in a stage 2 wrx and with a sti same thing, off a roll didn't happen till stage 2 sti. Oh and if by 80 he had 2 car lengths on you by 100 he would have even more then that and by 120 you'd be going backward, now imagine if you didn't launch how bad he woulda destroyed you, but this guy rolling off the line with m3 getting a jump caught up, right.

and when does losing by 2 cars at 80mph when your car is awd off a launch equate to "keeping up"??
