    Hey take that back! lol.

My family recently bought a new TL-S Auto (trust me I TRIED for the 6 speed) and its quite the porker. It is, however, a very quick car. I could see it eating a stock WRX. I do think my stage 2 is quicker, but I've never been able to put the two side by side. I've always thought it'd be an interesting match, but I think a stage 2 wrx just has the upper hand.

I think a stock WRX would most definetly be able to take a TL-S from a dig, especially an automatic one at that.

    Have you driven one?

Stock WRX from a dig winning?...I don't think so, unless its one heck of a launch. I guess it depends on the year...if we are talking about a 2.0 stock WRX, I think you need to go drive a TL-S. They are faster than you think.

Unless there is a huge difference between the Type S and normal one, they are quick cars but not fast. Not sure how it would mach up with a wrx but like I posted before a manual non type s is a high 14 sec car.

are you saying you think the TL will keep up with a WRX if they awd launch it? I'd have a hard time buying that one. Not because a WRX is omgsofast, but because FWD is ftmfl from a dig.

I've lost from the new TL-S from a dig, though we weren't able to go much past 60 because of traffic. They are quick cars, I would not underestimate them.

In your WRX? If anything, at the absolute worst, you should have taken him to 60 with the AWD launch being in your favor. I assume that it would have only gotten worse from then on if he took you to 60.

    Did you not launch?

thats what i was thinking, no way a TL would keep up with WRX from a dig to 60 if the WRX was launched.

As I said, if it would be a 5K launch, theres a possibility. However, I am saying a TL TYPE S would hold its own, and beat a stock WRX...we are talking about 290 horsepower, nothing to look past. (Now if it was a stage 2 WRX, then its no contest.) When our Type S went in for repairs we had a normal TL and it is dramatically slower than a Type S. There are big differences between the two.

I do agree that FWD isn't the greatest in the world, but our Type S hooks up VERY well. I've never brake launched it (hold the brakes and bring up the revs then let off the brakes), I have just floored it from a light. Slight wheelspin then pulls like hell. I, too, was very surprised at its speed and pickup. Like this young gentleman said,

Just because something is rated at 290hp doesn't make it fast, I have seen the stock WRX have a faster quarter mile time than cars that are rated a much higher hp. The acura is also almost 3700lbs. IMO if the WRX has a good driver it would win but we wont know until somebody actually does it.

What do you mean did I not launch?

I've lost to TL's when they get a jump on me. The rex just has too much turbo lag, especially in the summer. Car feels about as fast as a honda accord in the heat.
