you might beat some z's off a roll but you'll be slowly walking away if nething in a stage 2 wrx and thats with the older ones, some stage 2 wrx's just wont beat it, its weird but some stage 2 wrx's seem stronger then others. Newer HR engines are quicker so i don't think a stage 2 wrx is going to be touching a HR Z. Also a stock g35 would destroy a stock wrx off a roll and would hang with a stage 2 rex. (6 speeds)

why?...a g35 is slower a bit slower than the Z
Only a year and a half later...
I think a 2009 WRX at stage 2 would do quite well against any Z. Even bone stock would be up to the drivers.
It's amazing what 18 months has done for the "regular" WRX.

09 stage 2 wrx should be right with the new 370z/g37 off a roll. both should be what 103-106 traps?

I actually raced a g35 the other day (did a few pulls). He had exhaust. From a dig i killed him bad and held him off to about 105 where i let off and he flew by me. From a roll we were about even i pulled him once and another time he pulled me. I am running perrin stage 1 on an 08 wrx with a short shifter (although that doesnt really make a difference).
Just thought id add my experience with a g35

350's are pretty quick but I wouldn't bet my money on them stock for stock against WRX every time. Of course with the variances in hp figures for both cars since 03, it can be both a driver's race and model year advantage. I still prefer the horse bucking boxer bronco any day. It's just fun to drive.

I wonder how the 07/08 350Z will do against the 09 WRX? Both stock btw.
never drove a Z although i have always wanted to. my buddy test drove one and was disappointed in how slow it felt. he said he was expecting more from a 300 hp ride.
he then bought a stg 1 legacy GT

test drove an 09 g37s coupe and it didnt feel as fast as a stock sti which is right around the same performance as a stage 2 wrx
