Oh, that V-tech is so small and cute. I just want to pull it out of there and hold the power in my hands.

this honda wants to race me badly to the point of calling my p hone and emailing me. he says im the only car in town that is worth racing...after seeing his pictures, im thinking, oh great another v tec i could kill with one gear. well his response to that is "You sure have alot of faith in your wrx. I'll bring my drag radials down and we'll do this. I need a new axle to it might break lol"
any thoughts...should i bet some money at the track or what?

those things are light as hell, it wouldnt take to much money to get a high trap speed. If he indeed spends enough time and money to have "slicks" i woudnt be putting any money on it. I would take the race one way or another, but i guess im not much of betting man.
On a side note, i think i would spend money on a paint job before an extra set of racing tires
Some of those civic hatches with vtech's get up and go. I know a guy who was making mid 13 sec. passes on an n/a v-tech, so it could be a race. He took the time to do an engine swap so who knows.

he bought that rice with a loan for 4 grand..im sure most of that went into the new tires...he put that horrible intake on it which a clip broke off of and got sucked up into the engine two weeks ago....it came with the engine swap and exhaust....let me show you his other car haha....

I've seen a (black)ALL Motor civic hatch Run 12.4 at the track with slicks. Also know a White one(turbo'd) that ran 11.0 on slicks...@122![]()

Looks like a B16A2.
Do you know if it is a 1.6 liter or 1.8 liter? Could be a B18C......Type R engine.
It will be pretty quick because it is light. If it is the 1.6...it makes 160 hp and 111 lb ft of torque stock. Not a lot.
However, it has I/H for sure...does it have an aftermarket computer (like Hondata)?
Not sure if I would mess with it, esp. if you are stock.
You will get him from a dig...but watch the rearview!

If you're gonna race on the track I'd say go for it. I don't know why people have such huge pride issues with winning or losing. A fun race is a fun race. Props to him if he has a little hatch that takes down a WRX, and props to you if you knock him off his high horse![]()
im not a street racer...this is of course going down on a track...thats if we set up a race or not...im still hesitant to do it...im almost stage two but havnt gotten a cobb AP yet and my pride would be hurt losing to a vtec honda so im only racing if i come the conclusion that i will win....giving it a few more days of thought...i live in a small town so it might be worth my while simply because i have nothing better to choose from at this point

It is DOHC so its either a B16 or B18 Vtec... Either way, in that light ass car, with bolt on's and drag radials I would be pretty careful and not put money on it.
That could easily be a 13sec car.... Low 13's with the DR's even. My GSR with bolt on's and stock EM went mid 14's and weighs about 600lbs more.

Showed the pic to a buddy of mine and he said it looked like a B16.
mAd hP is not always the quick answer to a race. Power to weight is what counts. Even with a few bolt on's and some weight reduction I bet it would be pretty quick car.
My 2 cents.![]()
from what ive gathered it is a type R b18 according to him
is there a such thing as a b16 type r?
