Sans the launch, an off the shelf map stage II car is the equivalent of a 14 second car, aka not that fast.

Read my post again. "Sans the launch". When you take away the AWD advantage of a stage 2 WRX its no faster than a low 14 second very high 13 second car. Yeah I ran a 13.4 in my stage 2 but i only trapped 101.5 which without AWD is a very high 13 second run at best. My point is a wrx appears to be alot faster than it is because of its launching capablities but when you are racing from a roll you dont have that and you will be slower than RWD/FWD cars with the same 1/4 mile times.

I would be suprised if it was a 15 second car..without the launch the WRX is actually quite slow..

That's common misconception... people think that since I have a big v8 my gas mileage sux. The other day I was talking with this guy and his civic... and he was like well I still get 30mpg. I was like, on the highway I average 29-32 mpg, and he didn't believe me. Today's v8's are much more efficient than the old
