    C32 or SLK32

I know, wrong forum, but u guys are just so much better to talk to then others (especially vwvortex, if i said i was leaving vw they would eat me alive). Anyways, i have a deal, i can get a C32 for about 19K out the door from a dealership, or get an SLK32 for about 23K out the door. I will trade in my R32 which will probably get around 23-24K, so everything is set. Its good to know a friend that is VERY VERY close to the largest used Luxury cars in the United States. Anyways, what do u guys think? First of all, should i get rid of the R32? second of all, for which one? Im not going to state which one i want, but all three cars are great.

    R32 stock = 14.1 @ 99mph
    c32 stock = 13.2 @ 107mph
    slk32 stock = 12.9 @ 109mph

I personally like the SLK32 because I am looking at convertibles myself.

If you can get by with a 2 seater, or have a larger daily driver then I say slk, if you need to be somewhat practical then I say get the c32.

Buddy of mine has a 2004 C32. Fantastic car. It'd get my vote just because you'll get a lot more versatility out of it. If you're looking for a toy, get the slk. If you're looking for a daily driver, go with the C32. Very fast.

For me, the slk is too small and a little fruity, but I have always thought of two seat convertibles that way. Except for the S2000 which I think is an awesome car, the SLK just screamed fruit, or prissy girl to me, but maybe this is a better, more manly version. PLus I am six foot six so that might have something to do with it. I vote C32.

The C32 is a sleeper. I'd prob take it over the SLK since im not really a fan of convertibles. Good luck and keep us updated.

i think im going to go with the slk32... it hits a 13.0 @ 110mph stock, and gets to 140mph in 22.9 seconds, compared to the 2002 M Roadster (315hp S54 engine ... 13.1 @ 109mph) that hits 140mph in 25.8 seconds. It is faster than the M3 e46 to 140 by almost 7 seconds.

I'm not flaming the R32. I think they are cool cars. But 3300@240hp trapping 99? That's hard to believe. The STI at the same weight with 300hp traps around a 100ish. Most of the articles I read when they first came out were around 94-95mph. The 02 model WRX's weigh around 3200 with 227hp and they trap 94 as well.

How the heck are you getting such a good deal on those cars? A car that runs high 12's and is a Mercedes for 23K, that's nuts! How many miles are on these cars?
    06 GTO - yeah, it's pretty quick

well, theres this girl i know whose brother buys cars from this dealership (SL55 AMG, 760Li, and Escalade) and her father does their mortgage and some other things, so they are really cool with this family. Me and her are really good friends , and the owners of this place who are also younger (mid 30's) see her as a little sister. They will do anything for her, and she asked if i could get a good deal, pretty much closer to what they paid... and they said sure. Im still crossing my fingers it works out.

I know its hard to believe, but remember, unlike the WRX, the R32 is part time awd, so from a roll it is actually FWD, losing less power. Theres one variable. Another variable is that R32's have been dynoing at 185-215awhp, suggesting that the actual hp is closer to 250, just like the Audi TT's which is rated at 250hp and has the same engine.

Most R32's hit traps of 97-99mph, and the best 1/4 miles times i have seen is 13.9 stock. So they may be a bit heavy, but they are quite quick for what they are. A chip intake and this free exhaust unrestricting mod can run 13.2 @ 102-103... thats about 500 dollars worth of modifications. Not bad, right? There are two people that have hit 13.2, most of the people with those mods are running 13.4 -13.6!

i found an m5, though i liked it, i didnt think it justified the price/miles and year... 2000.

The 360 modena, i guess ill wait and see after i graduate undergard this May. Either i go on to med school, or my dad retires and passes me the bar or one of the plazas. if the later happens, i will slowly save up at a good rate and sooner or later get one. Thats all im going to say because i really dont like talking about it, at least not till i know for sure what direction my life heads after august.
