My good friend drives a 04 SRT-4 with a mopar bov and k+n drop in
My car, 02 WRX with gutted UP, Helix non cated DP 3" exhaust, 3/16 mod and tightned wastegate.
We didnt race from a stop because he had his winter handcook tires on, so we decided to go from a 40 mph roll. 3 honks and BAM...we both put the hammer down. Immediate spool up from the srt and he pulls 2-3 feet, he shifts and I rev to 7 grand vs his 6k and pull my 3 feet back....and we continue to stay SIDE BY SIDE untill we let off in the middle/end of 4th gear, didnt catch the mph since we had to stop since the road was getting too short to stop.
Anywho, it was a good time
My car is just as fast as a neon!![]()
Now I cant wait untill someone buys my WRX so I can go and buy a SRT and build a race car again![]()

Cobb Stage two and a half.
you're going to build a race car out of a SRT? What kind of racing you planning on doing?

and I know racing breaks parts, I perfer to have a stout tranny that costs 1k to replace than a dog box or a kazz tranny.

1.6 60's with that. I'm amazed.
Best of luck with your decision.
What time did you run the quarter with your 95 neon when you had the 104mph trap?
Cobb Stage two and a half.
B.S. on both counts. Beating an srt4 after 60 on a roll w/ practicaly no mods. Stage 3 w/ slicks doin 1.6 60' not likely. All the 11 sec srt's are doing high 1.7 to low 1.8's.
Used to have stg4 wrx. stuck w/ stg0 srt4

If you look on the srt time list the fastes guy is 11.0 with stg 3, and mopar coil overs with slicks. I think he did that 11.0 with a 1.8 60'. due to poor track prep. His old best time was something like 11.1 with a 1.6x 60'. Once he get's back to a track with good prep, I bet that car will be well in the 10's with another 1.6 60'.Originally Posted by i8yourV8

umm, 60' times are good to analyze so you can find ways to improve your launching technique or driving strategy. It's not the total picture.
in the total picture, 90% of WRX's are raped by SRT's in the 1/4 mile. It would be ricy of a WRX owner to get spanked in the 1/4 repeatedly and then find a way to win with the 60'.
WRX will always be the better car but let's choose our battles carefully.
The WRX built its reputation on being a European sports car for European roads. Wanna drag race? Go American.

embattled, we prevail...only victory exhaled.
I'm calling BS..SRT4's are known to break the sound barrier from a dig and the speed of light from a roll.
