my worst kill was when I was TXS Stage 1 and I had my g/f (now fiancee) in the car. I saw a debadged 2g DSM that looked completely stock except for a big muffler. i dismissed him as a ricer but still wanted to go at it. when the light turns green, we both hit it...

i don't launch (never did), and he's a bumper ahead in first...

    second, dead even...

    third, up by 1/2 car...

4th, he starts RUNNING away.....i was embarassed, not just because I challenged someone and lost - with my girl in the car - but because i felt ignorant thinking that DSM was stock. you never know when you're gonna run into a sleeper.
    embattled, we prevail...only victory exhaled.

i was in my friends work truck( 98 dodge dakota V8 pickup) with 280,000 miles on it stock, beat to crap, coming back from home depot with the back stuffed with an large amount of lumber material( close to a 1000lbs) in it and we se this kid in a 97 honda civic coupe with an annoying exhaust on it racing from stoplight to stoplight with some girl in a ford probe gt. she didn't want anything to do with him since she would of smoked him anyway. He thought he was all cool until we pulled up at the red light. he was looking at her we were looking at him and when it hit green my friend floors it and is car length ahead. He realizes that he looked way stupid in front of her and tries to gain but never had a chance. by the time we hit third we were 5-6 cars lengths and gaining and laughed are asses off all the way back to work. We stopped at the next light and laughed right in his face and he never even looked back and when the green hit he never even tried to show us up again. he must of felt so damn stupid at that point.

    Wins and losses

First night with my WRX I spanked a G35 coupe by three car lengths at around 75 in a 30. Slowed down the rest of the way home.

Worst loss with my gf on the back of my CBR600 F3 on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles. Winner - a 360 Modena with a hottie in the front. I was so embarrassed. I almost ate **** when the turn came up. My gf was terrified!

    Worst defeat:
Pre-WRX- My 1991 Escort vs 1995 Viper. Nuff said.
With WRX- 2005 Modified GTO from a roll. I knew I would lose regardless but dayum!

    Best Kill:
Nosed (and I mean a few feet!) out a new Z Track model from a stop light one day up till about 65-70 or so. He had been driving like a prick tailgating me and all and then pulled up next me at the stop light, nearly taking off the front end of another car to get beside me. I think he was so eager to run that he just spun for a while. That, combined with probably my best launch ever got me the win. I slowed down of course and he just blew on by without even waving or anything.

Best killobserved on the street that I had no part in:
C4 Vette ('95 or so) against a Ferrari (not sure of the model). Guy in the vette had exhaust but I dont know what else. Regardless, the Ferrari handed him his lunch, not once but three times. The vette guy kept coming back for more. I think the guy in the Italian Stallion realized after the 3rd time he was just throwing money out the door and wasting time so he let the Vette guy go.

Best kill: Some jagoff in a Windstar in the rain, on three consecutive stop lights. He just kept spinning his one wheel, getting more and more pissed off with each stop light. I could have kept it up all day, but I had things to do.

Best death: Bentley GT on the highway. Boom, gone.

~1994 or so. When Dodge came out with their sport minivans...

I had a 1988 Prelude SI. Got smoked at the light by the van...it was kind funny becuase I wasn't trying to race him, he jus took off with me. I tried to keep him behind but he beat me...so no launch. Was funny as hell though.

I have a few, when i had my 1988 Toyota Supra Turbo i raced a 02 WRX that appeared to be bone stock. My supra ran a 13.9@103mph. I was alone in my car and the wrx had 4 people. We did a slow roll off a light and at around 10mph we both punched it and the wrx just walked and walked, probably put 4 cars on me by 65mph, i was blown away. Another race in my supra against a WRX with a boost controller and exhaust (02 wrx), he had one extra passenger, from 60-110mph neither of of gained an inch closest race i have ever been in. My supra would walk modded mustangs and LT1s from a roll due to its strong top end, but i was blown away by those two wrx's. Now i own a wrx and im still confused as to how those cars were so fast, cause my cobb stage II wrx doesn't seem nearly as fast as my supra was from a roll.

I got waxed by a lifted s10 when i was driving my Nissan spec V. The truck had 33"-35" tires and exhaust. We pulled over and talked, He said all he had done was intake and exhaust ...and that was it.

I dont know, but I have never seen a lifted s10 with wheels that big, smoke the tire in second gear...

I look back at that and laugh now. Because it really is a funny story.

I took a '69 Z28 at the track last fall, the final night of the season. I had 1/2 a tank of Sunoco 110. It was from the bottom of the barrel, and the supplier had his doubts about it, suggesting it was too old. I said naw, it's fine.

My first race was against the Camaro. I got a good launch, but my car was studdering the whole way down. It was neck-and-neck, and I beat him by a car length. (It's always satisfying to beat classic American muscle in a 4-cyl. wagon.) I trapped 106, and he did 105. I should've been trapping 109-110.

When I got back to the staging lanes, I noticed my AC was on (I use the fans to keep the engine bay cool before racing). I figured the AC must've been the problem, and then raced some indescript car. The studdering was worse, and my CEL flashed. That was it for me; I knew it was the gas. I let off the gas at 80 mph and coasted.

I left the track and drove around, looking for an open service station at 8:00 pm. I found one about 15 minutes away, and asked if they could drain the tank for me. They said they'd love to, but they had no place to dispose of 8-9 gallons of bad leaded gas.

I drove home dejected. My season came to an ignominious end. It begins again in three weeks, and I'll be back in the 12's soon.

    My worst defeat:
I was cruising around the local spot and I see a Silver SRT-4. I was bone stock at the time (05 STi) We go from a 40 roll and he just ripps me a new one. After the race I ask him what he has, he simply says " just boltons" After talking to him for a little bit he says he has a GT series turbo and around 400whp. Needless to say I felt a little better after knowing this. Well thats my story

    My favorite kill

My friend (Rob) is in the air force so he only comes in town every so often. His dad has always had porsche's and the last time he came home his dad had upgraded to a 2003 911. Well Rob gets to take it out on a Friday night and ride around, he comes to my house and we are all staring at it like its the fastest thing on the planet. I say lets take it out here and race. Rob thinks I'm joking and that he will kill me, but agrees to go out. We get at a light with a long straightaway and not a car in site. Light turns green and I hit a great launch and pull ahead, I go to 100 and he never pulls back with me. Back at the house all he could say was, "Wow, I wasn't expecting that."

So I was on my way home, just cruising along at 65 on Irving park (Just south of O'hare with the 55 speed limit), and this Tiburon flies by me at about 90. He catches a red light and I roll up behind him (mini van in the left lane). Theres 2 girls in the back that start waving at me and blowing kisses, so I'm like "hello" and wave. The guy drivin the car starts revving his engine, so I rev back and put him to shame (turbo back exhaust for the win). I wasn't going to launch because he'd get rear ended. So he peels out and starts going full throttle, I get on it after there's some room and by the time I decided to let off (about 70, didn't want to get too crazy), I had changed lanes, and kicked ahead of him about 3 car lengths . He kept right on goin and I settled in to cruise again, victorious. I catch up with him about 3 lights later at a red light. I roll down my window and we're both like "nice car!" Then the girls in the back of the car yell out "Sexy!" I've never had so much car ego in my life .
