    a4 2.0t vs. 06 WRX

so my friend wants to race his 2005 A4 2.0t 6MT (no mods) against my 06 wrx 5spd. I was wondering if I have anything to worry about whatsoever. I have more torque, hp, and have significantly less weight. Comments are more than welcome..

A stock a4 shouldn't be a problem. Be careful, street racing is illegal and not the brightest idea.

You won't have any problem....though with Chip and exhaust they're looking at about 250hp and almost 300ft lbs or torque....

Driver skill could play a large role in it.

the 2.0T is a tried and true engine, and i like the fact that the fuel injectors are in the combustion chamber. this allows you to turbocharge the engine while still having a (relatively) high compression ratio.

all that being said, the WRX should outaccelerate it pretty easily.

new for 05 is the 2.0t 20 more hp and tq than the 1.8t engines. They've even had 2.0t fwd audis dyno 199whp and 207 ft/lbs tq stock. Seems like the engines are underrated. They've been getting 275crank hp and 300ft/lbs tq at the engine with just chip and exhaust on the new 2.0t's. Sooooo....stock, it's main disadvantage is weight and chipped...well you better have some mods done if you want to keep up.
Why do I have to slow down for the WRX? Just because everyone says it's faster doesn't mean I Have to let it win, does it?

yeah VW/Audi is obsessed with completely eliminating turbo lag...so they like a high compression and small turbo for the torque down low, and needed to utilize "FSI" to keep a high compression ratio and not go BoOm. neat idea, but i wish they had a few more horses.
