    06 WRX vs. Camaro Z28

It was a cold night, with dried salt all over the roads. Me and my friend were on the way to Taco Bell. The WRX would get sideways if I asked it to, so the traction wasn't all that great.

So I rolled up next to a Camaro Z28, looks like this
except with a huge FD3S RX7 wing.. (and stock wheels of course)

I know where the guy lives, and he's a ****.

He rolls down the window and asks me to go, not realizing I'm the same person with the black 3000GT that always terrorizes him.

He says he can't get **** for traction, so we should roll. So I let the clutch out and we start rolling down the slight grade, when he unexpectedly yells GO!

So I gun it, car bogs a little but it starts taking off. I was dead even with him through first and second. I couldn't tell wether or not he was getting traction, but he was right with me.

Amazingly...in third...I started pulling away! I probably got a car on him through the top of third, and missed fourth so I shut down. Fourth never seems to want to go in when I'm racing.

So we pulled over and he was like "GOD DAMN THAT THINGS FAST!" lol. He gave mad props to the 4 cylinder.

Are most people with WRX's beating LS1's? Or...?

2006 Wagon stock and Stage 2 dyno.
2006 Wagon Stage 2 Dyno Results

Cobb Stage 2 pre-06 and Stock

It looks like the 06 is producing more HP and tq at all RPM across the power band.

Anyone know how the two dyno's differ? Maybe the XS one is reading higher?

Strangely, that chart says "Power at: Engine Torque at: Engine"

but...theres no way the 06 is over rated by 30 horsepower. Subaru would be in a Mazda situation.

tx77015ls1 - How are you making 316 RWHP with those mods - stock CRANK hp was around 305, that's roughly 260 at the wheels. You're saying that a catback and air filter is giving you 50 horses at the wheels?

I know I'm being an ass hole, but am I missing something?

Well, even though this guy is a douche-bag... In his defense, the MT Z28 LS1's were very well known for making like 290-300whp stock and moving into the 310-320 area with exhaust mods. However, that is not common, and he is driving an auto... So I am a bit skeptical as well.

It's possible. Stock with auto tranny is high 13's. With his mods a 13.3 run is certainly possible.... In fact, somewhat probable.

If you know anything about LS1's you would know they like more air. I have the High flow lid, K&N filter, larger MAF ends, SLP smooth bellows, raised air box free ram air.

316 Hp on a mustang dyno with 93 octane

and 314 ona dynojet with 87 octane

I have video, time slips, and dynosheets to prove

go to www.ls1.com or www.camaroz28.com to learn about the LS1 engine

I will post video soon of my runs

This is a WRX forum, not a camaro forum. Nothin wrong with hanging out here with a different car, many people do, but bragging about your Camaro in every post you've made on a WRX forum doesn't make much sense...
