sorry if i look dumb, but i'm still learning here.
Just the older (pre-2002) handle better. They are lighter and more nimble. I wish we could have the handling of the GC8 and the power of the wrx

yes, it would be good for that. But there are a lot of good cheap cars for autocrossing. 240sx, crx are both a lot cheaper than a 2.5rs, but if you love subaru's as much as me, go for the awd. I have a feeling 240sx's are going to be impossible to find after the new fast and furious drifting movie comes out, so get them while you can.

gc8 is the best chasis for the subaru, conversion speaking.
    a vett/ws6 with n2o > all for the price/power.

but, Im a awd man now so im gona stick with the subaru's. Also, theres alot of variables that go into 1/4 mile times and et's but, in the end, it's a 1/4 mile and the lowest et wins.
-Iv seen at least 4 local Supra's running mid to low 9's in the 1/4. All supras are not 12 second cars.
-my old setup did 12.4 at 110 with a 1.57 60' at less than 300awhp. Automatic.
-I love vetts and will have a new zo6 in two years time as per my wife...lol.
I'm gonna be mad if it turns out to be TWill in a wig..

but...theres no way the 06 is over rated by 30 horsepower. Subaru would be in a Mazda situation.
    mazda situation?? whats that mean?
they call STi's STDs because everyone is getting them.

Yes, this is a prime setup.

Only problem is that it costs a decent penny to do and people report annoying maintenance issues with this swap.

A few years ago, Mazda over-rated the power on the second-generation Miata. They offered owners the chance to get their money back, or something else, which I forgot.

I think they also over-rated the power on the new MazdaSpeed 6 as well.

actually, i'm not even sure there will be many 240s in the new movie. i know that a 350z and a rwd evo will be featured, as well as a 67ish mustang with an rb26dett

    and yes, i love subarus.

I have an '06 WRX, and I have no problem with Subaru under-rating the power/torque. If power is one factor that insurance companies use to calculate premiums, that indirectly leads to lower premiums for me.
