If you start with $20,000, and add 50%, you have $30,000.

The way this was phrased, $31,000 is a little over 50% more than $20,000. 1/3 more than $20,000 would be $26,600.

When calculating how much more something is, you take the percentage of the original number, and add it on. You start with $20,000. 50% of $20,000 is $10,000. Add that on, and you have $30,000. $30,000 is 50% more that $20,000. $40,000 is 100% more that $20,000.

When you start with $30,000, and divide into 3, $20,000 is 2/3 of $30,000.

If you start with $0 and have $10,000, you have 1/3 of $30,000. If you add 1/3 of $30,000 to 1/3 of $30,000, you have 2/3 of $30,000.

Nah, we are discussing math. When you have $20,000, and you want to buy a $30,000 car, you need to spend 50% more.

Also, when you add 1/3 of $30,000 with $30,000, you get $40,000.

yeah, but it's not a domestic is it? I just don't see a SRT-4 doing over 100,000 miles reliably.. especially a used on that was prob. already beat half to death by some kid...

I dunno, my old roommate had a neon HS through college and we beat that thing within an inch of its life and all it ever did was ask for more. . . but we'll see, maybe I'll wind up getting an old truck.

I bet Ray will be selling his pretty soon.. seriously though, I'm not at all doubting you, you've prob. forgot more about cars than i'll ever know. It just seems Dodge's past record doesn't bode well for perfomance vehicles...

As long as whatever breaks is something I can fix then I can live with that. I'm fortunate in that I've got several other means of transportation if both of my cars are down.

Nah, if I get a truck I'll get a larger truck that I can tow with.

These threads are fun. First off both the STI and srt4 are hopped up versions of lesser cars.If i wanted to commute i would buy an 2.5rs or an neon sxt. I like most people here like to DRIVE. Don't try and say how the STI is a rally car cause its not. It doesn't meet wrc regs anymore, albeit it has a tremendous history behind the wheel. I have owned both cars for awhile now. I dont compare the two, they are way to different. Just enjoy what you have and respect what other peoples tastes are.
    Used to have stg4 wrx. stuck w/ stg0 srt4
