So I got my car back after a long while of not working properly. My friend had his dad's C55 AMG out. We decided to do a couple of runs. We started at 50 when I was in 3rd and right at the start of my powerband. We do 3 honks and he gets a 1 car lead while my turbo finishes spooling up. He was creeping away from me until we hit about 110, then he just walked me easily. Autobahn gearing rules.
The last run we did was the same, 3 honks. I jumped the gun a little bit and went WOT right before honk #3. I hit full boost and he went WOT at the same time. We were dead even. I was in shock how fast my car was, that I was neck and neck with an AMG V8. Once again, when we hit 100 he started pulling on me, until he was about 1.5-2 cars in the lead at around 130.
I am extremely happy with my car's performance tonight that it was able to keep up like that. The C55 AMG has a NA 5.4L V8. 362hp/376tq, 13.2@ 107.3 quarter mile. and 3500lbs.
I have not dynoed or tracked my car on this setup yet.
My boost was set to 18psi but in high gear and rpms it would spike to around 19psi. We had several opportunities to go from a stoplight but I didnt feel like blowing up my tranny, which 1st gear is on its way out.
