Bah, that's going a little far. There are some great Hondas that stay great Hondas if you don't rice 'em. A new Si or Accord would be a great daily driver.Originally Posted by TheReaper

the WRX will not become the new civic for years and years to come. You still can't find a decent used 02 WRX for less than 14k. Once you can get a WRX for 5K is when it will become the new civic.

It is a concept (it even says "SEMA concept" at the bottom of the first pic), but if you noticed he said 550awhp, as in its AWD, so I doubt if a rolling race would be its only strong point.Originally Posted by BrianH
Yea thats a sweet VW YZFWV, but we were talking about production cars here... Why would you even throw a concept in? Can you go 5 minutes on this forum without trying to tell us all how much better VW's are the WRX's
I mean I could say "yea but they should have put the new Z06 in that test and it would have crushed them both", but then that would just be dumb and add nothing to the conversation, at least the Vette is a production car though....

I'm almost positive the article is in Automobile... I've got it sitting here on my desk but too lazy at the moment to read the article.
Even if the 06 Si was that kind to bolt-ons to make 240hp, it's still not going to keep me from trading in my 04 Civic for a WRX next summer.
I just read at clubhonda that the 06 CIVIC SI made 204 at the Wheels.

I wouldnt put too much credit on that. It has been confirmed that it is the exact same engine as the one in the RSX-S. The only reason it is rated at 195hp instead of the 210 like the RSX was is because they used the new SAE standard that just came out which is slightly more conservative than the old standard. I can see no reason why it would make 175-180whp in the RSX and suddenly make 20 more whp in the civicOriginally Posted by Drod

But the 06 has 500rpm less of that powerband to work with.Originally Posted by Drod
And much more area under the torque and horsepower curves. It doesn't help to have an extra 500rpm if it's not making power anyway.Originally Posted by bigwrxguy
