    well..

I have forged pistons (low compresion) so lose abit . I dunno.. we will run with no passengers and see.
I looked at my dyno sheet and noticed that I am a idiot for shifting at redline.. the best shift point for me is 5600 rpm.. that will keep me in my power band.

    I think I'll pull 1 -2 cars

Maybe it's the headers? Maybe I should get rid of them?
If you got 1-2 before with the fat kid in HIS car, why would you think you'll get the same result by taking the kid OUT of HIS car??? I'm failing to see your logic...

You are heavier, and he has a better top end...it should be a close match up.

Post your dyno graph. You posted this over on iwsti.com and I'm curious to see your dyno. I still think 5600 would be too early for you, even with your overworked VF39. Redline is definitely too late for your setup though.

i have a vf22 at 260whp and my friend has an STi with some mods and we're even as well... up to 150mph, at least. haven't tried any further. both our cars were in roughly the same condition cuz we both do rallyX.

for some reason the WRX gearing is quite potent... on top of that, I can rev to 7500 rpms... and the lighter weight would explain things. don't feel bad though... low end torque, the STi's win no contest.

With me behind the wheel my
VF 30 WRX trapped higher in the 1/4 mile than my Stage 2 STi.
That should say something. The WRX pulls hard up top with a well tuned VF 30.

no, its not necessary... not sure why you are surprised, every ecutek tuner i've known does that. i discovered this on accident after a reflash, but apparantly thats what they do. i then asked about 8000 rpm, but they say that wouldn't be reliable for too long. so, 7.5k rpm it is... for now until i can afford to blow up my engine.

7500 is right on the edge of valve float. 7250-7300 is much more comfortable.
