The interior wasn't that bad the seats more than made up for it.

yeah the seats rock, the stock system bumps pretty good and the oem boost gauge is a nice touch. but you can't loose the neon feel with all pastic dash, door panels, knobs and buttons. the simulated brush alum looks like silver plastic hard core and the cf look on the steering wheel and shiftboost looks nothing like it should. and no cruise and having to roll the rear windows manually sucks. id rather take the money in the r&d for the motor to do 500hp then a fancy interior so i'm not complaing just stating.

Yeah, those things are fast, but I don't think they are Sti fast, are they? It would probably feel like a rocket ship to me considering I'm probably pushing like 245 crank horsepower, and those things don't have teh AWD to swallow up all the bawls. As far as interior goes, it's a neon, not a bmw.
My poor tranny!... someone sell me an aspen white 06 sti.

I've had both cars. Now my comparo would be biased. I loved my rex, she was pushing 280whp. She also had the suspension to back up the speed. Now my srt4 is better stock for stock. The srt4 is really cheap to mod, which the GF loves. They are both good cars, so let everyone enjoy what we have.

So have I. I had a 260whp 02' WRX. Fun car but I owed to much money on it at the time I was trying to save for a house. Got the SRT-4 to save money and was pretty happy with the purchase. Yes its FWD, but it produces huge torque numbers at low rpm's and responds quickly to small mods. I also like both cars, but I will be coming back to AWD land next year. If I didn't have any use for an AWD vehicle, I would keep my SRT-4.

    (Former F-bod guy here).
One night, a couple years ago, at a local F-bod meet, some kid came in his exhuast only Skittle and started circling the parking lot, revving at us. I got in my old car and gave his Skittle a severe ass whooping during some 50mph rolls. This was my first encounter with a Skittle- it pretty much set the tone for my continuing relationship with the cars and their seemingly always immature owners. Time went on and several Stage II Skittles received severe ass whoopings- always asked for. Encounter after encounter came and went and I no longer waited for Skittles to try me, I simply went on a Skittle killing spree- killing them from dig races, roll races, whatever speed whatever gear- they always got their asses whooped (I even killed one really bad one day, with my car loaded with hurricane supplies- I used every opportunity possible). It was kinda like my mission-Skittle killing. I was also banned from warstories over at srtforums during this time period becuase they would get upset at my kill stories.
Skittles are a great value if you like to roll race (gay).
I have come across very few mature SRT-4 owners (not like my behavior was any more mature-but I figured -what the hell- fight fire with fire).. I'm sure they're out there.

Somebody^^^^ needs to but down his bottle of hateraid. Can you blame a younger person for finally affording a semi fast car, and wanting to play with the big boys. It's that cocky attitude after the race that gives them a bad name.

All in good fun it was- any hate was simply residual emotional backlash .

Eh, that's what the salesman told you I guess? 'Cause it can't play with the "big boys". I had to show that to these "youngsters" the hard way.

Heck, I couldn't even play with the "big boys"- those guys are 10's at slowest.

^ Salesman comment was a friendly jab- I'm sure you're more educated than that, I8yourV8.

maybe you should have tried against a few AGP Turboed ones or a moded stage 3...... i mean after all...a 460whp f bod shouldnt feel acomplished after beeting a bunch of stock turboed 4 bangers...The stage 2 upgrade is just ecu, injectors, wastgate etc... it still uses the stocker turbo. i LOVE f bods... im just simply stating that a stage 1 or 2 SRT normally wouldnt even be worth racing

ps. good kill on the saab 9-2 nice car....i have a feeling the wife had an influence on that purchase though.. .heh just bustin

Never came across Stage III or nitrous fed Stage II's... I know the turbo upgrade and sprayed guys are in the 125+mph trap speed range (I was in the low 120's on motor).

Didn't feel accomplished by the way, just felt silly- that's why I no longer do those types of things anymore.

I don't take pride in winning from a role or stop. I just love the thrill of it all. Hell i'll run any car. I dont do it too much on the street any more, gettin old i guess. Most of the racin in long island is from a roll on the highway. I got a car that i think looks good and can put up a fight against most cars out there. I know i'll miss the AWD in the winter

no spray needed, but deff big turbo or stock turbo with lots o juice. my big turboed srt4 trapped 120 on 22psi with pump gas. havn't ran in on race gas and also did more to it sence the 120. i hope to trap 122-3 on pump gas on the new setup with 24psi and 127ish on 100ct and 29psi of boost. should of kept the camero long enough for the "big" boys to figure out how to make the neon go fast. lots of the 120+ club have happened in the last 8months or so. before then maybe 10 exsisted, now i bet at least 75 on the srtforums alone that i've seen.
