    I meant a drag race; both with typical summer tires, from a deadstop, say to 80 mph...

    dig = it will be close. Both are mid 13sec cars so it will be a close run, but if you nail the launch I would put my money on the stageII wrx.

    roll = Mustang

    As far as the stageII 2006 goes no one really knows. The car JJST came out and we are not really that aware of its potential, though I am sure that with the better gearing, more torque, and better power curve that the 2006 in stageII form would be more potent than a 2002-2005 and would probably beat the stang for sure.

    I'd say from experience with my car as a stage 2 (I never got to race an 05 till I was 2.5) you'll probably be pretty close from a stop, but from a roll anything past 2nd gear the mustangs going to pull past you pretty hard. If you have a totaly maxed out stage 2 (like everything possible short of a bigger turbo, so closer to 250whp than the average 220) you may be able to take one, but the average stage 2 just doesnt have the power to weight to really stay ahead for long.

    Everyone knows that V8s are slow. That's why they put the extra 4 cylinders in there. Do you see? To try and make up for how slow they are.
