this kid came to my party last nite talkin hard ish about how his mustang is gonna kill my car...wants to race me for 1000 dollars but im gonna go with 100 bucks. I destroyed a blown 5.0 the other nite so im pretty confident. This kid is driving a stock gt..maybe intake and pullies...def no exhaust etc..ive got everything but a fmic...and i think my cutout takes up the some of the slack for that..how receptive are gts to mods. such as intake and pullies..i should be fine rite?

If it was gonna happen you should have already done it. I get plenty of people talking isht about how fast their car is, so I'm like, okay lets go race, right now. 90% of the time they start throwing out excuses, sometimes they don't even have a car. My car is right here, if yours is not, then mine is teh fastar! It's as simple as that.

BTW, I've killed a GT or two, and my car is only stage 2.

You should walk him easily, roll or dig.

Search for a thread by me last month. I destroyed my friends 05 stock gt from a stop and it was close from a roll. Everything stage two but em. On video too.

I'm not so sure. Quartermile traps for those things are somewhat over 100mph, right? From a roll it might be an interesting race, especially if the 'Stang has a couple of basic mods.

As long as it is a GT and not a Cobra.

GTs mod pretty easily though, if he has just an exhaust and pullies, you will win, probably. If he has just said pulley he might have a Cobra with a Blower on it, which will mean you are dead meat if he can drive it.

I have raced an 05 GT and my setup is reletively close to the threadstarters, even an 05 has almost no chance, it would have the best chance probably if its modded a little, but stock its no worry. I had 4-5 cars on the 05 GT stang with my friend driving(who has been drag racing RWD cars for years and is a very competent driver) from a stop, and I missshifted 3rd slightly, so it probably would have been a little more if I hadnt. From a 35-40mph roll I would pull a car or two. Every time I would get into 4th (whether we were going from a stop of roll) I would stop pulling on him and we would stay at the same distance from eachother till we stoped around 100.

If its a Cobra or Mach 1, or especially if its an 03+ SC Cobra, then you may have yourself a decend race, but a close to stock N/A should stand just about no chance at all against a tuned VF34 WRX, regardless of what year it is your going to kill him. If he only has underdrive pully's and an intake like you think, your probably going to make him just look stupid if he'll even actually race you.
