E55 AMG vs Late 80s Civic Hatch Turbo

Went to the drags the other night and there was this sweet E55 running 12.95@111mph, The thing just had insane top end. So it lines up against a late 80s possibly early 90s beat looking civic hatch. Light turns green and the civic pulls off a 13.0@113mph and the E55 runs a 13.1@110. It was funny seeing an old beat civic take out the E55.

I assuming the E55 was not the new model with the 400+hp? It was the coupe, with the 340hp?

are you sure about that? i believe they're only in sedan and wagon trims. if you think there's a coupe, maybe you're mistaking it for another car?

The E55 was brand new, it was the sedan. It ran a 12.9@110mph why would you assume it was the 340hp model, i can't see that running a 12.9. The car was bone stock and automatic.

i thought this car ran a mid 12? being that it is auto I would think it would have been more consistant.
