First race ever in the Vette. Not a very admirable kill, but popped her cherry none the less...
An SRT-4 and local Mustang GT 4.6 ('03 I beleive, Carbon fiber hood, big GT race wing, body kit...) were set up to run. I watched from behind, as the SRT-4 took him from a 1st gear roll, by about 2 cars in the 1/4. We all met up at a lot afterwords to talk. I was about to go back to the hang out spot when the passenger of the 'stang asked me if I wanted to run (I don't know why). Hesitant, I said as long as there was no traffic on the freeway I would do it. He has an exhaust and intake I beleive. We went from a 2nd gear roll, and I shut down at 130ish. At three honks I got an immediate good view of him in my sideview, shifted into 3rd around 5500 rpm, and 4th at 5000. He was about an 8th mile behind when I shut down.
Pointless, I know, but I had to post it since it was my first sanctioned race.
