I was coming back on highway 65 from vacationing in Tennessee last week when I ran into him. It was a brand new black one with tags on it and tinted windows. The dude looked like he was in his mid 30s, and most likely had no clue what a WRX was (or a subaru for that matter) This was in the middle of nowhere Indiana, south of Indianapolis, so there were no cars on the road besides a few slow moving semi trucks every now and then. Well, I pulled up behind him and he was going slower, so I wanted to show him I wanted to play. I pulled past him, exhaust blaring, up to 100 and slowed down to see if he would bite. He did. Next time, he pulled up behind me as we passed by a semi. I slowed to 70 (speed limit is 65, I had cruise set on 84 ) and waited for him to gun it. Naturally he did, and I waited until he was even with me until I punched it. I pulled right up to his back bumper and stayed there to about 95 when we shut down due to another semi.
We passed the semi in the left lane with me in front, and him behind. Again, I slowed to 70mph and held it there. This time, I cut into the right lane to see if we could do the old 3 honks. He pulled up even with me and started to pace me. Just as I was going to honk, He downshifts and takes off. So I gun it with him having a car length at this point. By the top of 2nd I had pulled to his back bumper, and then in 3rd, I pulled past him pretty hard. I saw his car buck from shifting, and he stayed on it as I kept pulling. At about 125 when I shut down, He was about 2 1/2 to 3 cars back. I was surprised I took one from a roll at those speeds.
I tried to give him a thumbs up twice, but he wouldn't look over and eventually dropped way back.
