Sounds a lot like going big turbo on my Mazdaspeed Protege. You'd need forged internals and proper engine management. Gets to be big $$$.Originally Posted by olsaltybastard

I traded in my '03 Spec V for the STi in February '04. Was a great little car. I had lots of aftermarket goodies on it, but when it came to turbo's, the QR25DE wasn't all too friendly. I was 99% ready to purchase a turbo kit for it, but realized that the engine just wasn't built for the extra air. That would most likely require some new pistons and connecting rods (the guys at Nissan who built the SR20 must have been fired prior to the QR25 engine design.)
Anyhow, I forked over the cash for an STi, and have been pretty happy since. I visit the Spec V boards once in a while to see what's going on. Lots of nice rides in there, but the drama is still the same (Spec V guys know exactly who I am referring to!)

2005 PSM WRX
I raced one from a highway roll when I had a Stage 3 and he only fell back 2-3 cars at the most....their gearing is alot better then ours, I kept starting at the bottom of gears and he was right in his sweet spot.
