You will get smoked. But I would imagine a Stage II WRX would make for a good race maybe even pull ahead early on.

Your only hope is that he smokes his tires so bad that you can kill him on the launch.but it better be just a stoplight drag otherwise you're dead.

Race him. If you are really stock, I think you will get destroyed, but do it anyway.

I'd race him but stock you will get owned pretty bad unless it's wet and he can't get traction.

I raced one going up through 2nd gear before we shut it down just to toy around and he was whoppin up on me....granted I am not the greatest at launching but he still tore my stock WRX up.

This thread made me remember how anxious I am for the next gen Lightning. It will still be the 5.4L V8 but will now reportedly carry 500hp/500tq and rumors say it will run mid 12s at about 115mph

Are they still going forward with that or is it just on hold? I keep seeing pics of the new SVT Explorer Trac model with something like a 4.6ltr supercharged engine good for 400hp but that is it. It seems as if the Lightning has fallen off the radar. I wish they would bring them back though with 500 hp.

On a side note, one of my neighbors has an SVT focus. While I am ashamed to admit this (it's like admitting that you watch 'Saved by the Bell"), its a good little car. I wouldnt buy one but it's peppy, the exhaust note is great and the stock wheels and lowered car look IMO better than my stock WRX. I'd still kick his a$$ if I ever catch him on the road though.

My Stage 2 WRX (13.3 @100 mph - all time best) beat up on many a stock Lightning.

Stock - Lightnings really are not all that fast. A well driven stock WRX could put up a good fight to about 80mph or so.

If we are talking about a stock Lightning.

Can i post a video that i messaged to myself from my cell phone (v710)?? Id like to have you here the sound of my truck, same drivtran as lightning (harley f150) but more wieght. The blower is ported (and alot of other work) and just sounds sooooo mean. Its a fast truck and hooks up well. A stock WRX would not stand a chance in hell, unless it was wet out...lol. My vf34 wrx would be a close race, and its a fast wrx (walked stock and stage 2 wrx's!)
ill try to post a 15 second video sometime.

13.2 - bone stock is unusually rare.

Most stock L's run high 13s - low 14s if bone stock. (no drag tires or mods)

I watched a Superchips Lightning shootout. Not one pure stock Lightning ran that fast.

A stock Lightning running 13.2 is like a stock STi running mid 12s. I can happen but its rare.
