    Another broken-hearted S4....

Driving on 95 southbound today I had the chance to run an S4 multiple times from 60-100/105mph. We never lined up, rather we always did the chasing method. Each race I would pull away from him, not too hard or incredibly fast, but he always fell behind. One time he took the lead because I started at the extreme top of 4th, so I had to shift right away into fifth... once I did that then I started gaining on him but we had to slow before I could pass.

The S4 had a shaved rear bumper, it had metallic silver tint and it was yellow. All in all we probably ran 4 times before we got stuck in traffic and he immediatly tried to lose me.

Do these results sound typical? I dont know if he was stock or not, but I am Cobb Stage 2 (no catback).

    Cool.

    Which S4 - V6TT or new V8?

The new V8 ones are pretty damn fast, but a stock V6TT S4 is just barely quicker than a stock WRX from a roll. They run mid 14s stock, I think, whereas the new V8 S4 is quite a bit faster and runs way down in the 13s.

Sounds like it was an 00-03 V6TT, that was stock. I had a good run in with one. He told me he had a catback and chip. Same results we close but after third I would pull away.

They'll pull on a stock WRX up top, but nothing dramatic. It's magazine racing, but for what it's worth they have about 2 mph faster trap speeds than a 5-speed WRX. I've only seen one at the track, no runs on the streets (I try to avoid that).

hmm i was under the impression that at a high speed run they would pull on stock STi's.

New ones probably- they're much improved (see integra's post) . Also they're Bi-turbo not TT.

Absolutely not. A stock STi will work a stock Bi TS4 hard. Like people have said before, it's a closer race between a stock 5spd WRX and an S4. You're at COBB Stage2 in your STi? Damn. You should have put multiple car lengths in between the two of you. His S4 definitely wasn't stock.

if he was the older s4 biturbo/twin turbo whatever you wanna call it. With a reflash downpipe that thing frees up a lot of hp. Idk if you guys have seen that one video of a s4 off a roll against a sti where sti gets destroyed. Of course s4 isnt stock.

well I wouldnt have been surprised if his had at least a chip... it wasnt a stock looking S4 by any means, and the way he was driving it before he knew I was behind him leads me to believe he knew his car and how to drive it.

I wish I knew if it was modded, but obviously we didnt talk.
