    I'm getting a autometer oil temp gauge and am wondering where is the best place to put the sensor???

    The Lamco/Subaru oil temp sensor replaces the oil drain plug. I'd say the best place to put it is somewhere on the oil pan. It should be low, so it's always submerged, but in a place where the wire won't get ripped off by a straddled obstacle.
