    help removing fuel tank from 2002 impreza wrx

    what do i need to remove in order to completly remove the fuel tank from the car? any help would be apriciated...thanx

    Relieve fuel pressure, disconnect the battery, and drain the fuel from the tank by removing the drain plug.

    Remove the rear seat, disconnect the harness, drop the rear crossmember, disconnect the canister, disconnect the solenoid and drain valve, remove the hoses and clips, and then get either a transmission jack or any sort of jack with a pallet on top of it. Use that to support the tank as you remove the bolts from the straps. Four or six hands are good to have at this point. The wiring tends to hang up on the pass-through rubber, you will see what I mean.

    do i need to remove the rear differential??

    This is implicit in removing the rear crossmember. Mark the lateral link bolts before removing them so you know where they were set.
