I need advice on buying a wrx

There is a guy selling a 2002 bugeye Wrx near me he said the long block needs replaced witch means the whole engine right? But he said he blew on the heads and they are alright or something I don't know what the hell that means but if the heads are alright it's the short block right? And that a lot cheaper? I think. how much do you think it would cost to replace the whole engine if I had a macanic do it the guy says it needs a new engine or rebuilt would rebuilding it be cheaper? He wants 1500 is that a good deal? It has 216xxx miles

Unless you are purposely buying it to sink money into it I would pass. Long block would include the heads. I've not hear the term he used so I can't speak to what he meant.

So think about it. You'd end up paying $5 - 7 grand for a 14 yr old car with 216,000 on the chassis & tranny. I'd pass also.
