    2004 STI Worth asking price?

a very close friend of mine is selling his sti. im considering buying it. this is his description when i asked him specs. he barely drives it garages it in the winter. ive ridden in it and boy is it fast. hes asking 17k im sure i can get it for less since hes my buddy. he really wants to get a 2015 sti so hes motivated to sell. any input is appreciated. im not familar with subarus. more of a bmw guy but the car i was working on builing met with some misfortune so im exploring other options.

The body has like 82K miles, the motor has about 22k miles, Motor was built by Area 1320 in PA. Bouch xtr 2.5 Turbo, HKS turbo back exhaust, equal length headers, 272 Brian Crower cams, Stage 4 act clutch, tail blow off valve and external waste gate, grimmsport intake manifold and oil pick up. 850cc injectors. It;s running around 17psi and has around 400whp. Havant put it on a dino since it was tuned though so I donít have any dino sheets

    I came from an e36 328i myself...

Dude that's a clean, well kept, and powerful Subbie your friend's got over there...

I would buy it because he clearly shows that this car has been his heart and soul and he has taken extremely good care of it and also he's your friend and wants to get the new STI, so why not help him out you know? You said yourself it was nice to be riding in it, so why not be the one driving it? Yea the price is a bit higher but at the same time though... it's modified and well taken care of and is in top notch condition...
