Which year to purchase for horsepower

I'm looking to buy an STI within the next 6 months, and I wanted to know which year has the most stock HP. I'm looking into getting the sedan also. Any feedback would be appreciated.

If you have the coin, I would opt for the 15, IMHO. If you have patience, I would wait until they release an STi with DI.

I was thinking the 15 would, so I'll focus on that. Thanks for the replies.

True, I was wondering if there was some upgrade in the drivetrain that would have one edge out another year.

The mapping has evolved and even devolved over the years though. Some cars will feel quite different to other cars despite everything being measured "equal."

    I'd go new.

Not really.. although 07+ has better gear ratios. The main improvement with the 2015 is the chassis.

It's not even that simple. The method for measuring the hp has even changed over time. I'm not sure that there's any difference between the 300 and 305, because some things changed in the measures in there..
