    Is it stock?

2006 STI. Dealership says that it is stock, but they are three hours away and I wanted to be pretty sure about that before going to look at it.

    Thanks

SPT intake is not technically stock.

ESX oil cap is not stock.

SPT heat shield is not technically stock. From the looks of it, the heat shield is removed from around the turbo, so I'd suspect the downpipe may not be stock, or wasn't stock at one point.

Those blue silicone lines aren't stock...so they replaced something. I'd think that they may have been replaced in order to install a BCS of some sort.

Alternator shroud was painted white...it comes black from the factory.

Can you get any more pics? Perhaps from under the car to see the exhaust piping?

That's all I have right now. I may be able to get some more from the dealer. Would those items be something installed by the dealership when the car was new? The selling dealership is a Hyundai dealer so I doubt they really know anything about the car.

I don't think they actually know as they say Subaru on them. It's a Hyundai dealership with a traded in STI. I suppose I'll have to see what other pics I can get from them. Any suggestions other than exhaust and suspension?

Maybe it looked stock enough to claim "stock" to an untrained eye. I wouldn't be wary of them because some idiot sales rep posted some misinformation.

It's not like they're going to offer a warranty anyways. You buy any used car at risk, and this one happens to be an 8 year old sti. It's not likely to find one with out a few aftermarket parts on it. If it checks out further there's no reason not to buy it. Just call them out on there bull**** and see how they react.

Tell them you want an independent mechanic to look it over...perhaps even a Subaru dealer for that matter. If they refuse, walk.

Pre purchase inspection will definitely be a requirement. Thanks for all of the feedback everyone.

Anyone know a good mechanic in Seattle? Dealer is fine with an inspection.
