I'd only be wanting a base model with minimal options, and the color I'd choose would be flexible depending upon if a certain color would arrive quicker.
My salesman told me exactly that. If it is a common configuration, the next unallocated one off the line is yours. If it is "custom", with uncommon factory option combinations, then your order goes into the system to be specifically built for you. My impression was that the second scenario perhaps takes longer for delivery than the first. Of course the best scenario is that the dealer has already been allocated a car with your exact preferences, but then you probably wouldn't be ordering one in that case.

I ordered a GBP limited with Nav/HK/PBS (factory), STS (port-installed), armrest ext (port-installed), mirror w/ homelink (port-installed). My salesman at Falcone Subaru in Indianapolis, Bert, sat with me through the ordering process and gave me my VON on the spot. Highly recommend Falcone, by the way. I've bought 5 Subarus there now. I've never had a complaint about them - sales or service.

My original delivery estimate was 4th week of November (19 weeks). It was quickly updated to the month of September (~11 weeks). It's a hard wait. Take up knitting or something to keep you off the internet searching for "WRX porn" as my wife refers to it.

Thanks for the insight guys, I must have just gotten the lazy salesman who doesn't like to give much order info. Maybe he wants to totally surprise me with an arrival far before 16 weeks?! I will continue to stay hopeful.. I think I will have to find a new hobby to keep me busy and away from the forsaken 'WRX porn' haha.

I ordered my GBP Limited with the HK Audio, Extended Armrest, Homelink Mirror, and STS on June 1, and it came in yesterday! Originally, the date was set for October sometime, but as usual, they pushed it up and up till it got to August, and here we are! I took it home last night, gonna have fun today just smelling the seats and the new car smell....is that weird?

What dealer did you order from? I ordered my DGM Limited WRX w/STS, Homelink mirror, all weather mats, and cargo tray on May 30th and SOA is still saying August. It's cutting it close now since I just called them last Thursday and still no VIN.

I ordered from Carter Subaru in Shoreline. I worked with Debbie, and she kept me pretty informed during the whole process. Very happy with the way things went down. In fact, I was supposed to get my car yesterday after they had installed my clear bra and Resistall, and Debbie took a look and saw that there were a few bubbles in the clear bra, and told me that she couldn't hand the car over to me knowing there was a little tiny flaw like this, so she said to come in the morning after her guy fixed it. Well, about an hour or two later, she called me back and said that she convinced the guy to come back and finish the job that night; so I could get it on time. I'm very happy with them, and I'll say this. No matter how long you wait, it'll be worth it. I'm loving my Rex.

    Who did you order from?

Wow these wait times are ridiculous and really bummed me out as I was planning on ordering a base model on Monday. Does adding more features to the car delay the wait or doesn't it matter?

From what I've read/heard, the more options you add, potentially your wait time will increase. Also, it seems that the base models have had significantly shorter wait times for them, but I could be wrong. I'm thinking that it may also depend on your dealer, what state you're in, and the timing of it all. That's just a shot in the dark, tho, I only know what I've read on this fabulous forum. You shouldn't let the wait time deter you from ordering one, rizzo it's SO worth it. Don't fall victim of having to have instant gratification for this beautiful piece of machinery! LOL

That's great that they fixed the clear bra so quickly! I ordered from Carter Subaru in Ballard because it's fairly close to my place. I've been working with Tony there and I'm pretty happy with him. Just waiting. I'm looking forward to finally getting it though!

Yeah, it's gonna be awesome, I'm sure. Haven't seen many (any, really) in the Seattle area, even in my commute to the east side, so hopefully we'll spot each other one of these days.

I'm looking to get my windows tinted in the near future, and was going to go with Accutint in SoDo; I noticed you mentioned you wanted to get it done as well; do you have a shop you like to use? I've heard nothing bad about Accutint, and when I called them to inquire about tint, they seemed to have very knowledgeable guys and great products to choose from. But I'm always up for other recommendations as long as they do great work.

Wow. Looks like we ordered the same car. If I have the same wait as you, I'll get mine in 4 weeks. Post some photos, would you please? I'd love to see it. Congrats on the car.

I won't let the wait time hold me back. This is the first time I want a car without even driving it. The dealer has a wrx in the lot JUST for test drives so I'm sure after I test drive it my pen will be in my hand. I just hope I can get a decent trade in value for an 02 rendezvous AWD as I need as much $ down as possible. I'm just thinking of adding fog lights to the base and that's it. Thanks for the info.

I haven't seen any around town either other than some old models (both wrx and sti). I had a coworker recommend Prestige Window Tinting in Lynwood so I was going to check them out. My coworker has had four cars or so done there. I'll check out Accutint as well since you mentioned them.

Fantastic, Dubb. She's a beauty. Can't wait to see mine in person. GBP looks amazing in that light. Thanks for sharing.
