    Question 04/05 or 06/07?

So i'm 17 and I've been wanting to get a wrx for a while now but I have some questions..
Basically, I cant decide between an 04/05 model or an 06/07. Appearance doesn't really matter to me, but the greater displacement of the 06/07 is pretty appealing. Do you guys think it would be worth it to save up a little more for the 06/07, or is the 04/05 2.0 still pretty powerful? I have heard that the 2.0 is pretty lifeless at low rpm but I would be replacing a 98 Saturn Sl1 with this car so Im thinking the 2.0 liter would satisfy me..thoughts? Also, would the insurance cost differ a lot or only a little bit for the newer model?

    Thanks!

Since you aren't too picky and let's be honest anything is going to feel like a rocket compared to that Saturn... Lol I would get the newest, lowest mileage, most maintained, stock wrx you can find. I've honestly never driven a 2.0 wrx so I can't compare but my 06 felt great compared to my old civic. I think you'd be happy with either

It might not be THAT bad lol. Mine was 130ish I think when I was 17 and that was with a brand new wrx. He's getting an 8-10 year old one so maybe it'll be a less harsh

He's in New York. They aren't even gonna give him the common courtesy of a reach around.

But yeah man, I'd go with whichever option is better for you financial situation. Both are gonna be a big step up from your saturn.

See if a wagon would be classified differently under your insurance.

I just bought my 07 WRX a couple months ago and absolutely love it. My previous cars were a 90 F150 and a 94 E320 Mercedes. My WRX definitely blows them out of the water in all aspects of performance and handling but thats not saying much coming from those cars. i spent about 4 years looking to find the right WRX and i think i made a good choice. I purchased the 07 because i liked that body style better than 04/05 but that is all about preference.
what i really looked for when searching was:
    1-miles
    2-mods
    3-carfax

being 17 i would try too look for a stock WRX that you can work on yourself or with family (fun bonding times). some mods are ok like a catback exhaust but you have to watch out for the people that throw a aftermarket intake or down pipe on and don't tune it. lastly ask for a carfax before you buy any car. this will give you any information about emissions wrecks and other things of that sort.

As for insurance I am 23 with no tickets, crashes or any other infractions and am paying $111 a month through progressive.

Good luck with the search and i hope this helps you.
    -Aaron
