    Thoughts on an 06

So I found a car that I'm going to go take a look at.

    2006 WRX 5speed/brembos $14,995 sticker
    82k on the clock

Looks to be in real good shape from the pictures. I've read all the threads about what to look out for so I'm good on that front. And I can't tell you guys how helpful those threads have been, you're all awesome for that!

That said, does this seem like a decent deal? What price should I try to get them to if not? I mean I'll get them down anyway but I'm curious on a fair number.

That sounds about right to me, I'm near DC, the car is an hour south.

You mentioned the car has brembos, were they red or gold? If they are red more than likely they are just the stock 4/2 pots that 06-07 came with.

Do you have pics or a link to the for sale thread/ad?

I am also looking for something stock, so this is good to know. I wasn't sure what they came with.

Perfect, good news! And I know I'm very excited, could also be the coffee I've been downing at work.

Going to go look at it tomorrow probably.

Awesome! Try to get any service records you can and see if you can have a compression and leakdown test done by an independent mechanic. They generally cost about $200-$300 but, it could save you thousands down the road.

About the price. My car is a TR which cost even less than a base WRX when they were new. For a non-TR like that car I'd expect $13.5k - $14k to be the lowest you'll get and I'd still consider that a "good" deal.

Very clean. Those are stock Subaru 4/2 pots. They only put them on the 06-07 WRXs (used to put them on a slew of older JDM WRXs and STIs over history).

Clean looking car! I'd just make sure that it is totally stock before beginning to consider buying it. Were there any pics of the engine bay in the ad?
