    flooded 2013 sti, dealer reconditioned. 19k$ ???

    a freind brought in a sale brochure he printed off of some internet dealer. 2013 sti for nineteen. 20 miles. flooded to the top of the fenders and dealer reconditioned. i told him to pass(not having any car skills. ....at all.) but gods. a 13 sti for 19k? maaaannnnnn id almost do it but flooded? the car fax report confirms it to. sat in 18" + water for a week. i'd like a breakdown of everything they inspected, replaced. what do you guys think, how waterproof are our cars insides?

    I thought those kinds of cars couldn't be sold again. Maybe that is just certain states but, I swore the insurance company bought them and just destroyed them.

    Sounds like the dealer was self insured and is just trying to salvage whatever loss they can. I'd be very worried about all moving and electrical components.

    No more than 5k, IF that much. All sorts of problems are going to creep up. It would need a complete disassembly and reassembly. Dealer just makes it "work" to sell. The deep issues are certainly not addressed. Could be good for parts...
    You can't have everything - where would you put it?

    not even that. Wheel bearings, brake calipers, Steering linkage, suspension linkages, probably diffs, all been underwater...
    You can't have everything - where would you put it?
