is there anyway you could make me a list of what i need specifically? and the guy he was going to do the belt tensioner hoses gaskets and water pump for 300 if i buy all the parts. and 700 for just the timing belt. Does a subaru dealership do the service for free or what?

At the minimum you want the :

    Timing belt
    Water pump
    Tensioner
    Idlers
    Rad hoses
    Thermostat
    Coolant
    And all appropriate gaskets

    Changed.

Otherwise they will reuse all your old stuff including coolant.

I just did this service, it cost me $400 in parts alone for the stuff above. All my idler bearings were on there way out, with the smallest idler bearing real close to catastrophic failure.

my previous post is kind of confusing...

so 300 for labor if i buy all the parts which includes tensioner belt gaskets hoses and water pump.

the 700 would be if i bought nothing and said hey do this for me and he bought the parts and did all the work. but he would only do the timing belt.
