    Charged Twice for Sales Tax?

I live in Virginia, but bought my new WRX in Colorado via the Dealers Internet Site and over the phone with the sales person.
I was charged 5% Sales Tax (No tag or Title) on the Buyer Invoice , but when I went to the bank here in VA where I got the loan from they charged me 3% For Tax Tag and Title!
Was I charged twice for Sales Tax?

    8000' up in Colorado
So the dealer in CO charged you sales tax? They should not have. You should only have been charged tax in VA when you titled/registered the car at the rate for your county.

VA also has a documentation fee of $497 that most dealerships charge.

Re: Charged Twice for Sales Tax?

I bought a car in FL that I took to NY. I paid sales tax in FL & registered the car there for a while. When I transferred registration of the car in NY(Higher sales tax) I was asked to pay the difference.
