Ok I could be stupid for thinking about this, but the idea s stuck in my head.... I have a 10k miles 2012 wrx right now and I'm not super happy with it right now. There is a 2007 STi with 36k miles for sale in my area that has been on the market for over 200days. It was on sale when I bought my wrx and the price was $31k but has now dropped to $28.8k. I looked on truecar.com and they said the market value was around $24.5k which I would ask like $23.5/$24k. Would this be a stupid idea to do? I have loved the look of the 06/07 STi since it has been out and have wanted an STi since I was like 13 (2003). I know the ultimate decision is mine. Just want ideas. Thanks everyone.

Cobb stage 2 tune ~ Invidia turbo back exhaust
2007s are notorious for bad tunes. Check the car fax see if it has been in the shop for awhile at any time. Personally the 11-13 models aren't worth gettin rid of for the 02-07s it's an entirely different car. Having owned every year now I like my 11-13s the best for an every day car. If you want just a weekend hot rod then the 02-07 STi modified will fit nicely but an every day performance car with great feel and drive ability is the newer body style.

Ya it is one owner. I will check carfax. It said 19 reports. But I didn't spend the $40 for the report.

You paid a car payment for 9 months and added that much more to the loan of your new car. So sure your interest rate for the 18months basically.

$500 in the price difference + another $165 in doc fee + $145 plate transfer + $200 in interest is something I can definitely live with.
I really don't mind spending $1,000 every year on a brand new car. That adds up to $5,000 per 5 years. Now, if I would keep my car for 5 years then it would have cost me more than $5,000 to replace it with a new one. I'm also saving money on all the maintenance that I don't have to do if I change a car every year. That's a win win in my book.
