Between the fact that there are 5 Subaru dealers within 100 miles of where I live, their inventory is crap, the games the dealers play gets tiresome.
I could have bought a Dodge Challenger by now with no BS what so ever!
Dont get me wrong, I prefer a WRX, but Subaru doesnot make buying a car a pleasant experience.

This is the first time supply has been soo short since we started getting the WRX in the US. It used to be they had more than they could get rid of. But I think whats going on, is they are producing fewer of the 2013's especially this late in the game, in order to release the 2014 (which will probably bow at a motor show this year) with the new 2.0L and exterior design.

Because most 2013 WRX/STI have been shipped to California for some reason. Each dealer in SoCal has at least 10 WRX in stock and 3-5 STI.

I went used because of this. Within 200 miles of me there was maybe 5 or 6 new ones, all way marked up. The closest dealer had one base sedan for 28k O.O So I looked for low mileage nonmodified ones, and got a 2011 premium for 24.5k. That being said, if you don't mind a 1 or 2 year old car, try looking for some lightly used ones.

Also ran into a**hole dealers trying to sell me 08's and 09's for the price of a new one.

I'm not sure which part of the country you are from but you could always order one from my dealer in Chicago. They can get you a 2013 WRX base for under $24K!
It's a great deal even if you would pay $1000 in shipping.
    Check them out:

Thanks folks, would you believe a forum member here provided me with a dealer that got me a killer deal on a 2013 STI.
Made a deposit on it, now we will see how the loan rates work out.
I will have to pay for shipping to my home from the dealer which is about 1000 miles away.
