Hello. I am looking to get a new car soon and i've been lurking and searching through wrx forums for about 5 months now..learned and read a lot of different things and came away with some mixed opinions. I'm coming from a 2003 jetta gli with the 24v vr6 engine..which was a decently quick car. and was wondering how much of a step up performance-wise a 04-06wrx would be? And a 04-07sti? I'm really looking forward to having a turbo car and i would be modding it only with a turboback exhaust and an accessport for a protune. Any help or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

My advice to you: drive one and decide. In the end, it's not about the performance but how the car feels driven.

Even if its not any faster than your jetta was (which I think any wrx would be), the handling on these cars is just amazing. Coming from a FWD platform I'm sure you will love it.
