4500$ for used 2002 WRX 100k miles with some problems, Legit or a ripoff?

I'm looking at a used 2002 WRX with 100k miles on it. Its being sold for 4500, and does have some problems. It is going to need new rear struts and has no snow tires, which I need. Also its front bumper is missing a piece. The owner has no recollection of ever changing the timing belt which is something I would also have to do as well. The owner assures me that the transmission, clutch and engine are all in good shape. But the price just seems to low for this car to have normal where and tare issues.

If you guys could give me your opinions on this I would greatly appreciated it.

What mods are on the car? That's a very low price for a car with "only" 100K miles on the clock. Either it's a gem or you haven't been apprised of the whole story...

seems legit, timing belt replacement will need to be done in a little, but with out pics hard to see. any engine problems? get your mechanic to look at it, compression/leakdown test, make sure shes still running strong.

As far as my knowledge goes it is not modded at all and completely stock. I do also have 3 pics of it as well.

At least the headlamps are modified. If I were modifying a car, the headlamps are neither where I'd start nor where I'd end, so find out what's happened with the rest of the car. So far only from what you've said and shown, it needs a front bumper, two front fenders are dented, and it needs a full timing belt job, minimum.

What is the device below the radio with the knob on it?

looks like a knob that controls bass output from subwoofers in the back. A lot of amps come/used to come with something that allowed you to control that without using the equalizer in the head/unit.

Thanks for the input. I have never personal owned or bought a WRX before so all info is welcome and appreciated. Now I have more substantial questions to ask the owner. Will provide more in for in the coming days.

    Thanks for the help all.
