When you have a trade-in then you only pay the tax on the difference in value. You can call any dealer and verify.

I ordered my 13 WRX base hatch for $24,416 before options and $24,700 after options... DANG! You beat me by a bit.

    And ya that includes freight.

Looking to get a 2013 hatch-premium. I was offered $27,500 by a dealer for one with short throw, auto-dim mirror, and bumper cover. I am thinking of pulling the trigger on this. From what I have read this is pretty good. Not sure if this is the right thread to mention this on, but wanted to get some other buyers inputs. Thanks!

I think that's a decent good price since that isn't much over the invoice price for a base premium models. But you should ask the dealer what their invoice price is and go from there. I got mine for $31,500 out the door (tax, dealer fee, registration, etc..) with the short shifter, spt exhaust, exhaust finisher, homelink mirror, wheel lock, illumination kit red.

$900 dealer fee seems ridiculous.. sounds like they are just trying to get that money back... I would negotiate that down and ask what it is for.

    Reposting from other thread:

It took a little longer but I finally picked up my 2013 WRB Hatch base today at Grand Subaru in Bensenville, IL (just few miles west of Chicago). I'm in love with the way that the hatches look (I will be posting pictures soon).
I ended up paying $24,475 with the following options: short throw shifter with the STI leather/aluminum shift knob, boost guage, dimming mirror, cargo mat and the rear bumper cover.
I'm posting a scan of the order form to help you guys get better deals.

    Cheers!

How is 26,300 out the door on a base wrx hatch? No options, west coast and 7.375% tax rate. No dealer in all of California would even try to meet 26,600 when I was still at that price.

Did the dealer give you a breakdown of this OTD price?

Not much, basically I got this quote from another local dealer and went from there. Sent it to a bunch in Ca, and they said they don't want to compete with the price(even the ones that advertise price matching, etc). Then I went to the other somewhat local dealer and said I want it beat by 300, and they said ok.

Subaru Impreza WRX 5 Door Hatch (DXN)

    24,329.00 (800 Below Invoice)
    1,906.07 ( Taxes 7.725%)
    345.00 (DOC Fee)
    28.25 (DMV)

    OTD- 26,608.32

That actually looks like a very good price. Only think you might try is get them to reduce is the doc fee.
