Factory dealer cost is how much the dealer actually paid for the car that they have in stock. Factory invoice price is basically the lowest cost that they say the dealer can sell the car for.

FWIW, I think almost everybody was able to *order* a car under the invoice price. If it's already on their lot, good luck getting invoice price.

These terms are used interchangeably, dealers will say factory invoice and that means the invoice price as shipped to them from the factory. This is what we pay for the cars, but we get "holdback" (called holdback because it is held back from the consumer typically) money back for every car reported sold, On a WRX its just under 1000 bucks that we get back that's why I am able to sell the cars below invoice even though that is our supposed cost... Nobody lists the "factory" invoice price, you will not find that on any website and it is useless info even if you could, who cares what the factory sells the cars to the distributorship for, you want to know what the dealer gets the car from the distributor for.

Etnpnys, not everybody is able to order a car under invoice... not even close to what the average WRX is sold for. Maybe you were or dealers in your region do it but there are areas of the US where there is no way you are going to get under invoice

I've done a lot of work to my car by myself. Up until about a week ago its been running great. Now its sputtering out and barely running. I'm leaning towards a gas issue.

If you haven't seen my build thread, check out my signature.

Car was running great, and all of sudden its fighting for its life.

    Spark? Air Leak? Clogged filter?

Do you see any warranty issue here, if so, do you see any problems fixing the issue, whatever it may be?

Nice looking car you have there. I am not a mechanic, I would figure out the problem and go from there.... If something aftermarket caused the issue there is no way its going to be covered. If its something unrelated to mods and your local dealer is cool you might have a shot.

I had one salesman tell me "you flat out have no business with this car", and another guy at another dealer tell me to come back Wednesday and he'd take me for a test drive. When I got there on the following Wednesday I was told it was his day off! I am reluctant to say what dealer I work at because I've already had a ClubWRX member find out where I work and call my store n my day off and buy a WRX from another salesman here for the same price I gave him! So I do all the work and offer the great price and get screwed over because he couldn't wait 12 hours to factory order a car from me. But anyone can PM me and I will give you my contact info at work.

Is it really that big a deal for the dealership to reset a tire pressure censer gauge? I have a set of summer rims with Low pro tires and when i put them on they trip the tire pressure censer. i was told it would be 75$ to reset it. because I dont have the Subaru rims (which i have my winter wheels for) WRX's come with street tires that you obviously cant run in the winter. Would you really expect your customers to mount tires every few months based on weather? Im pretty sure all of us here have two sets. This is more a vent than a question at this point i think Thanks for your time and great thread!

Do your winter wheels have sensors? Most places these days have TPMS (tire pressure monitoring systems) equipment and can flash your sensors to work again. Depending on which set your going with. You do need to have sensors in both sets of wheels however.

Yes Both my summer and winter wheels have sensors. and I understand that Subaru's TPMS has only enough memory for one tire. But my issue is Lets say i bring my car in for a Service (Oil change or whatever) it really needs to be an additional 75$ charge to hook the car up and reset the sensor? That is what I was told by the service center. And i have a great rep with my dealership so i didn't let it bother me I am more so wondering if it is actually harder than it would seem to reset it.I just wonder if the fact that my summer wheels and rims are not Subaru brand has an effect? Not to mention all you have to do is hook up you Cobb AP and you can reset it yourself in seconds, so it cant be that big of a deal for the dealership to do it.

FWIW my dealer charges 1/2 hour labor for that (50 bucks), I don't think its particularly hard to do. If you can do it through your Cobb AP then problem solved!
