How much did it cost for the sti transmission and the install?

Less than $2,300 for everything. I got really lucky on materials/labor. It was me and my friend/mechanic that did the work. The only thing I wasn't there for was pulling out the tranny from the donor car and putting on the front passenger control arm.

Wow, I would consider that more then lucky, that is a miracle! Any suggestions for how to do it that cheap or do you just have the hookups?

Gotta find a wrecked STi to start, then contact the person ASAP. And most that I found had front passenger or driver damage. And all you would need to replace is the equipment on that side.

Then do all the work in a hobby shop or a place with a lot of tools and a lift.

From there, sell your old parts and then enjoy the 6th gear.

I would have gotten the swap done for less if I hadn't had to buy a control arm/oem clutch.

Well 450 hp at the wheels is usually not achieved with 720cc injectors. They are not sufficient enough to support the high fuel demands at that hp level. 850cc or better is used at that level. You must have a phenomenal tuner.
