A few minor improvements to my 2014 WRX

So here is the starting point. A base 2014, fresh off the dealer's lot, just about a year ago. I plan to take you guys through a progression of steps to where I am today. A lot of improvements to come.

    First improvement, paint protection film.

This stuff is great. Wonderful protection from bugs, stone dents, etc. Third car I've put film on. The entire front end, headlights and half the hood covered.

Certainly a very minor change, but I like the blacked out look. I bought these foglight delete panels for cheap on EBay.

My first big improvement, new wheels. These are Enkei RPF1s size 17x9 +45. Slightly used, bought from a local party.
I love these wheels, just about the lightest wheel that you can get unless you have an unlimited number (not me).

    9" certainly looks wide.

Here are the tires I selected, BF Goodrich Comp tires, size 255/40/17. They have a good reputation among enthusiasts, and an excellent wear ratings. I want them to work great, but last for a long time too.

The stock wheels are 17+x8 with 235s, here they are compared. The new wheels and tires are both 1 inch wider.

Mounted up on the car, they look pretty beefy, but they fit with no problems. No rubbing.

My personal opinion is that tires are the biggest improvement you can possibility make to your car. They effect everything dramatically. Cornering, braking, acceleration, and, although not as important, looks. The wheels, if you buy good ones that are both wider and lighter, also make a noticeable improvement, but nothing like the tires.

This is not to say that the OEM tires a crap, they're actually pretty darn good. But there are tires out there that will transform your car.

This is great. Def has helped me confirm and be more comfortable with an offset closer to stock. Thanks for contributing.

Give it a better to the corner stance being that wide. I like the fog light blackouts as well.
