    Zax's Shaggin' Garage Build Thread!

Since this is the Builds subform and nobody said it had to be CAR builds, I've decided to document my garage build! Since space is at a premium here in the DC sprawl, it's only a one car garage, so I'm making the best of the space. My buddy and I are having a bit of a build-off on our garages so I'll push him to start one of his own build threads and we can have an online competition!

Here is the garage currently (from the doorway):

    Some goodies:

I plan to extend the rail further along the wall. The arrangement is pretty neat. Purchased from Lowes, the rail is modular and you can swap attachments.

These are stupid and will come down. They are placeholders for now, but I will be printing and framing some neat pictures. More to come later on this!

Here is the back wall from the garage entrance.

    NEXT STEPS:

I'll be painting the side walls fire-engine red to match the tool chest. The back accent wall will be a light grey color. I'll paint the door trim the same red as the side walls. In the immediate future I will be epoxy coating the floor, then laying down tile. I've been eying these suckers up (but they're pricey!): Race deck | Garage flooring |Race deck garage flooring | Race Deck.com. I'd like to have black and light grey (same as the accent wall) checkerboard with red (same as the side walls) around the perimeter. The center of the tile will be vented to channel water out of the garage. Overhead storage will be going in the front of the garage above the tool chest to house the wheels and tires.

I miss having a garage. At my last place I had about the same amount of room. Very interested in seeing This play out.

Disregard my crying your garage looks great. It looks like you could add a lift in with no problems.

I find myself buying a few everytime I go to Lowes! I have a stock. You never know when you might need to hang or store something. And multiple trips to Lowe's in a single day is out of the question.

If you don't use these, you should.

I don't live IN DC though. Outskirts in MD. It's much more affordable out here, but space is still a premium. Cheers.
