Chief_WRX l 2007 Satin White Pearl STI
My journey for this car began awhile back. I have always loved the GD chassis STIs, the look, drive and feel of them. They were basically turn key race cars. Hawkeyes have been my favorite since I was younger. In October of 2013 I had purchased a brand new 2014 ISM WRX Hatch. I quickly began modifying the car and making it something that is unique to me Club WRX Build Thread Herel. Although I loved the WRX, a piece of me has always wanted a GD STI. Plus throwing in the benefits of a cheaper payment, lower insurance and registration fees its always a plus. The search process began in late December of 2014. I had made up my mind about selling the WRX only having 21200 miles on it, to purchase an older used car. Some may call me crazy for my decision. When searching for my STI I was looking for a few things, 2007 only, in Satin White Pearl, gold BBS', well maintenanced with records of work and the least amount of mods I could find. Yes, I know I was searching for a unicorn. Towards the middle of February of this year, I had began to narrow down my search to 3 cars, one in VA, one in MO and one local to the state of Colorado. The STI I went with was owned by a local older gentleman here in Colorado. It was a 2 owner with his step father owning it prior to him. Had all maintenance records from oil changes to the engine and turbo being replaced by a Subaru dealership under factory warranty at 47,XXX miles back in 2010.
I had truly found the car I had been searching for all along. Before doing the deal for the car, the owner allowed me to take it to a buddies shop here locally in Colorado Springs. We completed a compression test, boost leak test, check all suspension, transmission parts and all fluids. Everything checked out well, I was chomping at the bits to purchase the car. There is a few dings on the outside on the drivers fender and one rashed BBS however the car was mechanically sound especially for having 104,XXX miles. The exterior flaws were a minor issue in my opinion considering how well maintenanced the car is. I only currently have some low quality iPhone photos of the car.

This journal has only been started, there is many more to come from with this car. First on the list is changing all the fluids, oil, coolant, trans, rear diff, brake and power steering. I want the STI to be on my maintenance schedule. After that I plan on swapping back to the stock air box with and upgrading the filter and changing the down pipe to a bell mouth design as I plan on going external waste gate in the future. Also removing the ugly tow hitch the previous owner had for his dirt bike along with the SRS Fart Can exhaust and a homemade grounding wire kit in the engine bay. Getting a proper tune is high on the priority list as Cobb OTS maps are terrible. That is all for the very near future. Long term plans are mild built block with a 8cm^2 TD05-20G Turbo on E85 right around the 380WHP mark with all the supporting mods of course.
