Question Engine Year Compatibility for WRX Engines

I have a 2003 subaru WRX and am looking to do a engine swap with either another 2.0 or maybe the 2.5. I understand all the things that have to be done to go from the 2.0 to the 2.5 but I am just curious about what year motors, either 2.0 or 2.5, would bolt up in my 2003 wrx? Just a ball park idea or any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

If you re-use your heads or get the combustion chambers matched to the 2.5 you can use any year subaru short block. The ECU calibration will need to be matched to the new engine if going from a 2.0 to 2.5 or jdm 2.0
