A bit on the ridiculous side in some aspects, but that looks like an OEM Subaru snorkel. Off to Google I go!

That car is nuts. It's too bad that they decided to put that trashy hood scoop on it.. (that is a fake, right?)

Yeah, that's one of the ones you can pick up for 4.99 at your local parts store.

    First post nailed it.

Pretty cool. I'm half inspired to see what it would take to lift my wife's outback legacy wagon lol.

It really isn't much. Depends on the year, but most Forester take offs will give you a bit of lift. If you're curious and want to do some research, this is the thread that I used for 90% of my information:

I would think Forester take-off's wouldn't help much on Legacy Outbacks, which are already lifted more than an inch over the Legacy wagons, and are considerably heavier than the average Fozzie. King springs seem to be the popular choice for Outback owners. Primitive Racing is a great resource for Outback lifting: Primitive: Wheels, Brakes, Suspension

Here's another Primitive project, which I want to have done on the Outback:

Oh, and the snorkel is a modified Safari snorkel. I've looked quite a bit into Subaru-specific snorkels, and never found one. Shouldn't be too terribly hard to fab up if you're not afraid of cutting (which you aren't in this case).

    Moar pics!

Here is the 97-99 Legacy Outback trailing arm mounts that are supposed to help with keeping the tire more centered in the wheel well:

    Just some other pics:
